I joined Centrica in May 2016. My main area is in Industry and Metering but my scope goes beyond that in regards to the projects I am assigned to. The scope of my work is now global and not restricted to the projects taking place within British Gas.The projects on which I have worked include the following:1) An industry wide Gas project called Nexus, working on the Transition Design attending various industry work groups in this area.2) A project focussed on the management of Online customers and ensuring we give our agents the best access possible to the functionality to set up and maintain customers online accounts so they can manage their own energy supply and services accounts.3) A decommissioning project which involves understanding the landscape of the functionality that needs to be removed and ensuring any capability linked to this landscape is not impacted by the changes.4) The design of a new Industry Process and Market Message (Data Flow) Orchestration framework which is able to integrate with cloud and on-premise applications through a variety of integration technologies.5) FMRS (CSS) Consequential Change high level design, providing valuable input to both the internal programme and the external meetings where the industry wide requirements and design are being discussed and finalised.I am working with on-premise and cloud technologies including SAP CRM/ISU, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP PO, SAPUI5 and Angular JS. I also work with a variety of utility products used across the energy industry.

As an FBA I was responsible for industry facing functional systems and processes and played a key role in ensuring compliance with industry change, including the management of the Gas Industry pipeline. I am an expert in the key industry areas including Supply Point Administration (Gain and Loss of Supply), Asset Management and Appointment of Agents. I was a key member of the Joint Office run UK Link Committee providing input to and signing off the changes made to Xoserve's central systems on behalf of EDF Energy. I had a similar role at the Gemserv run iGT UNC Workstream group. Both groups have played a vital part in developing and implementing changes for Smart Metering Consequential Change, Faster Switching and more recently Project Nexus which covers the UK Link Replacement Programme and introduction of Single Service Provision for iGT's.As an FBA my key responsibilities were as follows:- Attending industry meetings including SPAA Expert Group, UKLink and IGT Work Group, representing EDF Energy in discussing issues, changes and processes and voting on industry wide change.- Managing the Industry Change Pipeline ensuring Change Records are raised and planned to align with modification timelines.- Responsible for raising changes and supporting the business raise changes in the SAP ISU and AMT DTS Supply Applications.- Help input into and then sign off design changes including gaining approval from Activity and Budget Owners.- Signing off testing and working with the Design team to manage the implementation and support any issues found during storm.- Offer my expertise in the Gas Supply Industry when discussing processes and their design. This includes supporting the Business, AM, design and project teams.- Subject Matter Expert in Gas Supply Industry

Carried out the analysis of activities required to complete the implementation of a new Oracle utilities CC&B and MDM solution and the migration of Major Business electricity accounts from a mainframe system in to it. This included workshops, meetings with delivery teams and 1 to 1's. Used the results of this analysis to create a run plan of tasks with timings and dependencies in Microsoft Project. Also captured resources and created rota of resources required to run and support the run plan. Held walkthroughs of the plan with teams involved and worked with the rest of the Cutover team to manage the run plan through a weekend. Involved in the governance and hand over to storm (initial management of the new solution).Other activities included stakeholder management, planning, input to design decisions, both technical and non technical.

Working on Project Orchard, the biggest IT project to be undertaken at EDF Energy and a complete change in not only the customer facing systems but through out the whole customer services business.Initially working in an Analyst Programmer role with Oracle, Unix, Toad and DataStage I was soon offered a role as Technical Lead in the Data Migration Extract Team.This team is responsible for delivering the data from various sources including the Electricity and Gas Mainframe Billing System to an Oracle Staging Database where the data is processed by the Transform and Load part of the Migration team.My role includes the following responsibilities.- Managing the analysis, estimation and delivery of defects and changes.- Responsible for the prepare to run plan and run plan for every migration event be it a small test or full live migration.- Using experience and expertise provided by other members of the team to ensure solutions to requirements are delivered with quality and performance in mind.- Contributing to the management of tasks carried out by the team and ensuring that everyones workload is evenly balanced.- Working closely with Legacy Applications, Data Cleanse, Transform and Load and Industry/Business teams.
