Post financial close monitored the construction of the power station including production of progress reportsAttended a factory inspection test of two 150 MW steam turbines for a coal-fired power station in construction in the Philippines. This involved checking the HP module clearances of Unit 1 and witnessing the HP rotor over-speed spin test and measurement of vibration at turbine trip speed of Unit 2.In December 2013 Jacobs merged with SKM.

Duties included assessment of project documentation, production of a pre-financial close feasibility reports, monitoring of construction, raised concerns regarding the EPC contractor’s performance, approval of drawdown/disbursements requests made by the owner, production of monthly progress reports, attendance at each plant’s performance tests, checking of the performance test results and production of the taking over certificates for each plant. Provided technical due diligence services for various power plants in Europe and the Middle East. This included managing a multi-discipline project team of consultant engineers, review of technical and contractual documentation, identification of technical risks and production of due diligence reports.Technically reviewed EPC contractor tenders for a 400 MW CCGT plant in Ghana. The review included checking the completeness and compliance with the contract specification, checking their quality documentation, raising technical queries and providing the recommendation for the preferred contractor.Technical adviser to the developer considering a new location for a 1200 MW H class CCGT power station project in Spain. This entailed confirmation that the environmental constraints at the new site could be met and layout optimization based on the new site constraints. Expert witness in the arbitration between the client and a Kuwaiti construction company regarding the supply of used gas turbines. The dispute concerned the extent of supply of equipment for conversion of the machines from 60 to 50 Hz and the adequacy of the solution provided. The outcome of the arbitration was in favour of the client.
