Lead hardware designer for the embedded controller used in one of our flagship products produced at approximately 6000 a year. Controller has to interface with both GM and Chrysler products, incorporates CAN and J1850 bus standards and integrates several logics microcontroller: CPLD & discrete with power control for actuators.Leading the hardware design from specification to contract manufacturer bid stage for other main product line: a hydraulic wheelchair lift. Has required custom analog circuitry (valve control), communication schemes (to avoid patent infringement), and packaging.Provide support to approximately 30 engineering employees for electrical questions regarding, harnessing, packaging, relay logic design, etc.

Wrote the requirements documents, negotiated with vendors, oversaw system installation, and programmed the control and data acquisition system of a $300,000 synchronous generator test facility located at Rose-Hulman Ventures. Continued the development of the facility by working with others to produce test procedures that would help Light Engineering Inc. prove their machine’s market edge.
