Earned promotion to management position within three years of employment to optimize alignment between IT infrastructure and business strategy. I currently direct IT operations enhancement initiatives and strategic planning, while managing the IT budget, business continuity, and agile responses to shifting needs and priorities.Key achievements in this role include:• Led migration of physical servers (local storage and limited redundancy) to vmWare virtualization (shared storage) to slash costs and capture high availability; grew managed virtual machines from a few to 24+. • Designed and implemented large-scale infrastructure changes to networks, Active Directory, and phone system; transported all critical systems from main office to mountain datacenter and extended all systems into two new branches.• Accomplished Application Whitelisting (AppLocker) implementation—with no interruption in user experience—to allow only approved software to execute on domain computers (stops malware/ransomware). • Engineered means of securely processing all messages handled by third-party secure email system into our in-house email archive for optimal compliance and discovery. Identified challenge, posited solution, and collaborated with vendor on customized solution and subsequent successful implementation. • Implemented single-server DirectAccess solution enabling remote laptop clients automatic and secure access to internal company resources without VPN.• Developed flexible, low-touch method for workstation deployment (based on Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) to achieve fully-automated install of Windows and all required applications (20+). • Completed customization of Windows Deployment Services to establish support for PXE booting of many DOS/Linux utilities alongside MDT's WinPE deployment environment.• Facilitated Security Awareness training, including use of simulated phishing email campaigns to test users’ resistance to social engineering attacks.

My top contributions in this position include: • Rebuilt existing (non-Exchange) mail server from scratch; immediately improved performance and reliability of email for all employees with first month of employment. • Established Windows domain and migrated company to Exchange email within first 2 months of employment.• Led complex migration to new version of CRM system; identified cause of slow performance on new CRM app (when vendor could not), designed workaround, and pushed it out to all workstations using centralized management tools; captured improvement in page load times for app by over 3x (from 12+ seconds to under 4).• Earned “Employee of the Year” recognition during second year of employment—awarded by employees, managers, and company owners—as a result of CRM project success. • Deployed SharePoint-based intranet—establishing it as a critical and flexible information resource, hub for team collaboration, secure repository for HR and other sensitive information, and library for IT procedures and documentation.• Successfully advocated for and implemented an email archive solution for purposes of compliance, discovery, and storage efficiency. Archiving is automatic and archive is easily searchable by users.• Implemented organizational helpdesk system to ensure efficient and transparent resolution of broad-based user issues.• Identified and implemented third-party product from DesktopStandard that improved IT governance, ensured consistency in computer configuration and user experience, and reduced costs by automating tasks that previously had to be done manually or through complex scripting (Microsoft subsequently acquired DesktopStandard technology and built it into their server and client operating systems).
