All my life, I’ve been a wonderer(distinct from wanderer...though I've done a bit of that too). As an undergraduate, I studied Biological System Engineering(BSE) and then eventually Biochemistry and Microbiology. BSE brought many of my conceptual wonderings to life — exploring how physics, biology, and mathematics govern our bodies, environment, and even our energy sources. To indulge my wonderings further, my university hired me to conduct research, studying the morphogenesis of Arabidopsis cells, hoping to discover genetic and growth patterns within the development and interdigitation of cells. While I found great value in my education and research, I felt like I could only tell the first half of a story.Throughout my research, studies, and life, I noticed a constant theme: the power of data. Whether engineering, biochemistry, genetics, consumer trends, or sports analysis, data was, and is, the most powerful and effective tool to explore, discover, and create. Data Scientists have the tools to create and process data, enabling them to explore and develop predictions, discover answers, and ultimately create value. This is the heart of what drew me to data science — the critical pursuit of what we do not know and the potential implications an answer could hold to improve the world. Data Science allows me to live beyond intuition, to tell the second half of the story.…So, how did I end up in finance?Throughout all of this wondering, there was one desire of mine that never quite satiated: To see and help the person sitting in front of me. I hope to use the critical thinking and complex system analysis skillset I garnered while studying engineering and biochemistry, my expertise in data science/data analysis, and my passion for helping people, to help clients create financial freedom and security; to unchain them from the world. Ultimately, I want to help people achieve a life of peace, purpose, and stability, giving them the freedom to pursue their dreams and become the best version of themselves, the man or woman God created them to be.

Focus MissionaryThe Fellowship Of Catholic University Students Jan 2019 - Aug 2021San Diego, California, United StatesServed as a full-time Catholic missionary at UNL, San Diego State University, and Wayne State College. In addition to working with students, we did service work in the local communities every week, primarily working with impoverished populations. With students, our job was to help them realize their inalienable value and purpose, and encourage them to live lives based on the Christian values of serving the poor, charity, forgiveness, virtue, and the continual and selfless pursuit of excellence for a greater good. -
Data EngineerNano Engineering Research Core Facility - Unl Mar 2017 - May 2020Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesHelped lead and design a research project on biomechanics, energy, and morphogenesis of mutant Arabidopsis cells. This involved reading countless related published papers, designing various testing procedures, designing a customized micromanipulator and stage device, using various lab techniques and equipment, data analysis, data engineering, and creating presentations to share our results. This research helped me become proficient in various lab equipment, including: Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopes, Nano-IR, various Atomic Force Microscopes, Bose Electroforce, and Cellscale biomechanical and tensile machines.

Senator - College Of Engineering (Unl)University Of Nebraska-Lincoln College Of Engineering Mar 2017 - May 2018Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesI was elected Senator for the UNL College of Engineering by the Engineering student body. This position entailed weekly senate and subcommittee meetings, meetings with Engineering faculty, faculty senate, Chancellor Ronnie Green, and the Board of Regents. Further, I was continually reaching out to the Engineering student body, authoring legislation, discussing potential bills, and debating current policies, creating and facilitating personal projects, and continuously educating myself on current and upcoming plans and news related to UNL. -
Academic Committee Board MemberUniversity Of Nebraska-Lincoln Mar 2017 - May 2018Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesAs a UNL Senator, I was appointed to serve on UNL's Academic Committee. We mediated between students and faculty to create, amend, and improve policies pertaining to the standards of academics, discipline, and courses at UNL. Additionally, we curated the standard policies presented on each course syllabus at the beginning of the year and led a large initiative promoting the use of Open Education Resources to help students with financial needs. -
Teaching Assistant - Chancellor'S Leadership ClassUniversity Of Nebraska-Lincoln Aug 2016 - May 2017Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesUpon completing the Chancellor's Leadership Class as a student, I was asked to return as a TA the following year. It was an honor and privilege working with UNL's Chancellor, Ronnie Green, especially as this was his first year as Chancellor. In class, I led several lectures on leadership topics and books, wrote quizzes and tests, and graded reflection papers. Outside of class, I chaperoned students to various community service events, as well as brought them to "VIP Events" where we would attend a performance or a sporting event with a notable faculty or alumni from the University. -
Program Coach - Certificate Of Civic Engagement (Unl)University Of Nebraska-Lincoln Jul 2016 - May 2017Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesAs a Program Coach, I taught and led students who were working to attain their Certificate of Civic Engagement, a recognition of their passion and willingness to serve others in the community. Specifically, we focused on developing skills in 6 areas of civic engagement: civic identity & commitment, leadership, diversity of communities & culture, civic communication, analysis of knowledge, and action. I regularly met with students to help them create, plan, and execute goals and personal projects. -
University Health Center - Committee Chair (Unl)University Of Nebraska-Lincoln Mar 2016 - May 2017While serving on UNL's Committee for Fee Allocation, I was appointed Chair of UNL Health Center's subcommittee. Exposing me to the business, facilities, regulations, and structure behind the patient's experience, I learned how little separation there was between things like budget, insurance, and salaries and the quality of experience and care received. We performed various cost-benefit analyses to determine how to provide the greatest help to the most students. This included allocating money to update old equipment, providing students with more free psychology and counseling visits, and more.

Committee For Fee Allocation (Cfa) - UnlUniversity Of Nebraska-Lincoln Mar 2016 - May 2017Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesI was elected by the student body to serve on UNL's CFA. We were responsible for creating and presenting a budget to the UNL Senate on how best to allocate over $26 million dollars of student fees. We met weekly with all programs, student organizations, and facilities designated under Fund A and B to determine how we could utilize the full potential of our student fees. Two of my favorite personal projects: reallocating fees to increase the number of free mental health/counseling visits students received, and improving the lighting and safety on campus at night. -
Chemical And Stockroom ManagerUnl School Of Biological Science Apr 2017 - Sep 2017Lincoln, Nebraska, United StatesI was responsible for preparing and delivering chemicals and supplies to the classrooms and labs of the School of Biological Science. Although not a glamorous job, it was humbling work and an excellent opportunity to talk to all the professors and researchers about their work.
