Technical Services Manager
CurrentI have been in the masonry industry since 1964. I became a master mason in 1970 and a mason contractor in 1974, with experience in both residential and comercial construction. I joined the staff at BIA in October of 1999, and currently serve as Technical Services Manager, covering the nine south-eastern states. In regards to brick marketing, I have made many guest appearances on a variety of television shows, promoting the use of brick.In the area of codes and standards I am a Gold member of the Building Officials of Georgia, and a member of the Metro Atlanta Inspectors Association.As to masonry training, I am the Chairman of the National SkillsUSA Masonry Technical Committee, overseeing the contest for secondary and post-secondary masonry students held annually in Kansas City, MO. I develope and oversee the annual BIA-SE Manpower Forum, a contest that qualifies apprentices from the southeast to compete in MCAA's national contest. I sit on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation, and the Florida Masonry Apprentice & Educational Foundation.I enjoy donating time to do non-profit work on any industry related projects.
