Effectively contribute to the planning and management of day-to-day/long-term Engineering and Asset Integrity issues, while balancing commercial and safety considerations.Prepare, negotiate, and manage assigned Mechanical contracts, ensuring they operate within agreed budgetary requirements, taking action to reduce costs and overall risk levels.Working within an E&M team to ensure current mechanical processes/procedures remain business and best practice relevant while balancing commercial and safety challenges.Support the Mechanical Engineer to: - ensure a balance between outage and running plant requirements, during planned or unscheduled outages. Undertake active engineering and commercially focused role in supporting the Mechanical outage planning, preparation, and management.Ensure the plant meets its statutory compliance with regard to PSSR while following industry best-practice recommendations in regard to Asset Integrity. Ensure the effective and timely management and attainment of statutory standards.Deputise for the Mechanical Engineer in periods of absence/vacation and establish strong, effective relationships with all members of the Mechanical Department and its key customers – internal and external.Remain up to date with Industry engineering best practices and statutory requirements. To include PSSR, design codes, site specifications, document control procedures and specifically plant inspection/asset integrity industry best practices. In line with both internal and external compliance requirements, undertake assigned audits, communicating outcomes, while supporting and driving action points.To act as a central contact and information point for other departments on designated matters.Contribute in departmental meetings, team objectives, company policies and procedures.

Teesside Power Station

Employed as a Mechanical Supervisor on one of the worlds largest CCGT Gas Fired Power Stations.Carrying out unit surveys and report/recommendations of maintenance based on all anomalies found. Ability to trouble shoot quickly and effectively, to reduce turbine downtime. Complete Strategic Review of Maintenance Planning and Co-ordination specific to Gas Turbine’s, HRSG’s and associated plant equipment. Develop Preventative Maintenance programmes and procedures, and identify/procure spares and components. Produce detailed reports, method statements, risk assessments and mechanical procedures. Undertake the role of Unit Outage Manager, taking full responsibility to complete all aspects of mechanical maintenance during outage periods. Be knowledgeable of all-lifting equipment, regulations and in the Environmental issues including disposal of all hazardous wastes. Have a good understanding of safety regulations and laws and take lead role in HSE Issues including investigations in Incidents/Accidents. Knowledgeable in the use of turbine tooling and boroscope equipment, vibration systems, control systems etc. Provide technical support to manufacture/repair facility.Ownership of Budget Expenditure for plant areas of responsibility and produce Capital Expenditure paperwork and engineering lead from equipment identification to installation.
