I was born in Oregon and grew up in Alaska. Being curious from a young age and having a deep love of science, I spent my time taking things apart to see how they work, reading books on electronics, astronomy and anything science related. I decided to go the engineering route, but discovered that the university life didn't really click with me. I quickly discovered that I learn faster in environments where there are goals to achieve and the hands on experience provides feedback. When I can see how the technology is being used to solve problems and my efforts are meaningful and helpful, this motivates me to learn more and dive deeper. My career has taken me from my beginnings as an ISP support representative to this big exciting world of Data Science.I have been performing data analysis for the last three years and I love it. I love digging into the data, looking for the story that is just waiting to be told, finding the patterns, learning Python, SQL, and R, and applying them to real world problems.I do not like people that are pushy, arrogant, or that lie. If you are a nice person I will go out of my way to help you anyway I can. If you don't know the answer to something, it is ok to say "I don't know". Let’s take the journey and figure it out together. Respect others, keep an open mind, share what you know, and never stop learning. In my free time I enjoy biking, peering through my telescope, photography, and playing around with software defined radio.
