Bryan McAtee B.Bus, ASA, CISABryan is a Founder and Owner of PanGRC which focuses on developing new Business Continuity Management (BCM), Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) practices, tools and training services.Bryan has over 30 years of practical industry experience in the BCM and GRC disciplines.Prior to PanGRC, Bryan was the Global Head of BCM and a member of the senior management team at Australia’s largest bank, National Australia Bank (NAB) where he held responsibilities for: Revitalising the bank’s BCM capability; Oversight of the Bank’s global BCM activities; Reporting of global BCM capability to both the Board of Director’s and external regulators; Pilot implementation of a new and simpler BCM methodology in the bank’s New Zealand’s subsidiary in order to increase their existing capabilities to meet external regulators’ requirementsPrior to the NAB role, Bryan had dual responsibilities at Australia’s 2nd largest bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) for BCM and Information Risk Management (IRM) – both of these functions were located within the Operational Risk department, where Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II were key drivers of change in Operational Risk Management practices.Two notable events that occurred during this role were:1. Leading the successful business continuity response to a real event that threatened the Bank continually over a 16-day period; and2.
