As well as wrestling at the weekends, I also am involved in the management and administration of WrestleZone - a not-for-profit organisation running family-friendly wrestling events and pro-wrestling training in the North-east of Scotland.Our volunteer committee’s passion for pro-wrestling has developed WrestleZone into one of the leading sports organisations in the North-east, with 20 wrestlers currently part of our training academy and a further 15 currently wrestling on events across the region. It is our aim to continue to further opportunities and all duties are undertaken voluntarily, with proceeds from live events across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Angus and Moray reinvested into the organisation.I am also a trainer at the WrestleZone Training Academy, coaching the next batch of pro-wrestlers aged 16 to 40. I really enjoy this role in teaching the fundamental skills required and starting people on their path to pro-wrestling stardom.

Having been in Scouts since the age of 8, I progressed to becoming an Assistant Scout Leader and have done that for 13 years at the 27th Aberdeen (Hilton) group. We provide everyday adventure to kids aged 10 to 14 from our base in Rosehill Avenue. Along with the other Scout leaders, I am involved in delivering the Scouting curriculum to around a dozen Scouts currently on our books. This involves lots of camping trips, mountain biking, hikes away, cooking and everything else you would expect, and more!I am also on the group's Executive Committee taking a leading role in the promotion of our Scout Group as well as maintaining our Scout Hut.

Working as part of the Change Team, I support the organisation with transformational change projects aligned to our strategic priorities. I am working on a number of different projects providing a range of support to council services that are changing the way we work.My main role has been taking forward the One Aberdeenshire project, which is looking to build on the strengths of the organisation and facilitate a culture change in the way council services operate. Through the Appreciation Inquiry approach, we have engaged with hundreds of council employees to find out what is at the heart of when things go well. This engagement has established organisational principles that colleagues will be expected to adhere to. The project is now looking to find new and innovative ways of taking forward practical changes to establish these new ways of working that empower our teams to be the best they can be.I am also involved in supporting the council's flexible working programme, workSMART, and provide change management support to help teams and services adopt new working practices.I am also a Digital Champion, supporting my colleagues with the roll-out of new digital tools such as Office365. I am advocate for the use of these new tools in solving business challenges, supporting colleagues to find new and more efficient ways of working.I am also supporting the organisation adopting a PMO approach to managing projects, working with stakeholders to establish governance and underpinned by the use of project documentation. I work with colleagues to ensure projects are managed in accordance with this emerging process based on Prince2 and APM.I will also provide ad hoc facilitation and improvement support to services where they may be considering change; anything from delivering training and facilitating at workshops, developing business cases, benchmarking against other organisations, researching best practice, preparing communications and much more.

Working as part of a project team, I coordinate a number of projects as part of a transformational digital channel shift programme aiming to provide improved online services for customers of Aberdeenshire Council.Responsibilities include; stakeholder management, customer engagement, communications planning, process mapping, delivering improvement workshops, project visioning, business case development including costs / benefits expectations, technology requirements specification, procurement of technology, supporting implementation of new technology / processes and benefits realisation.I also support the programme manager with budget monitoring, report writing, research and data-gathering as-and-when required. I am responsible for the upkeep of project documentation including issue logs, risk registers, project plans and action lists.I am responsible for chairing meetings, minute-taking, decision-making and many other tasks as part of this challenging role central to the council's desire to provide better online services for over 260,000 residents in the area.

Working as part of a project team, I developed detailed plans for a replacement intranet for Aberdeenshire Council. This involved consultation and engagement with the council's 15,000 staff members to collate user requirements for the new SharePoint intranet, gathered through face-to-face interviews with senior management, improvement workshops and research trips to private and public sector organisations.I developed detailed user requirements, defined in a suite of service offerings. The council is in the process of implementing these plans with the requirements complimented by a number of user journeys also developed.During my 18 months working on this project, I also supported the Content Officers with cleansing information on the legacy intranet in preparation for it to be migrated to the new platform, and other activities including stakeholder management, project documentation and other tasks as required by the project manager.

Working within the Communications Team, I supported the Communications Officers with the following tasks;*Writing press releases*Responding to media enquiries*Supporting Communications Officers with any administrative tasks required.In addition, I also worked on a project to increase the media coverage of Aberdeenshire Council's Libraries service, including producing a social media strategy for the service. I was also involved in employee engagement activities, coordinating the issue and collection of an annual survey to the organisation.

Writing news articles for the national press. Working as part of a small team covering the North-east, responsible for responding to news tip-offs and creating media opportunities and issuing these to the national media. This included following-up on human interest stories, court reporting and reporting on emergency incidents.

Starting as a trainee reporter and graduating to be a senior reporter, I was responsible for news collection throughout Moray for publication in the weekly regional newspaper. This included responding to news tips, sourcing news stories, court and council reporting and various other news content.I was also responsible for the Entertainment writing, including developing close relationships with local entertainment acts such as bands, theatre groups and entertainment venues.I also reported on local sports events, including liaising with six Highland League football clubs as well as local interest stories on many local sports star.During this time, I won the Highlands & Islands Young Journalist of the Year award.
