My Ph.D. focused on the development of a technological solution for an unmet clinical need to rapidly enable the rapid assessment of donor liver organs prior to transplantation. I independently developed an electronic and optical research medical device to quantify liver disease (steatosis) prior to organ transplantation. The results of this work led to a device development and clinical trial in human transplants. I developed new optical fiber and dielectric spectroscopy probes for assessment.
