Safety Team Shift Lead - Ellis Library
CurrentI am a member of the safety team at Ellis Library, the main library on MU's campus that serves thousands of students weekly. I work as an overnight shift lead during the school year and as needed for holidays and breaks.- Designating and assigning work to fellow safety team staff to ensure our patrons' comfort and safety- Answer patron questions about the library, as well as enforce library rules and policies- Do frequent rounds of the building to ensure safety and to monitor activity within the building- Monitor security footage both inside and outside the library- Perform tasks and assignments as instructed by senior safety officers- Work collaboratively with different departments within the library (circulation, special collections, janitors, etc.) on various tasks as needed- Knowledgeable of emergency/inclement weather response plans, crisis response, basic emergency first aid, and training from the National CPR Foundation- Effective communication, deliberation, and conflict management skills to both work effectively with coworkers and settle issues and disputes with patrons
