  EXPERIENCE Petroleum Geo-services ASA Houston TX 1995 to CurrentPURPOSE OF THE POSITION Operate, maintain and improve the instrumentation related equipment aboard the seismic vessels. The Position relates to the operation, maintenance, and QC of the seismic data acquisition system including, but not limited to the recording system, seismic streamer, source controller & related equipment, and peripheral equipment. Reports to Chief Observer onboard vessel. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY BE ASSIGNED AT DISCRETION OF COMPANY) Follow safety procedures. Operate equipment in the department Quality control of the seismic data and equipment. Maintain logs and forms. Follow required standards and routines. Assist in maintenance of inventory, spare part and purchase systems within department. Operate and assist in maintenance and repair of equipment within the department Assist other departments onboard in maintenance and repair. Active participation in rigging/upgrades Back deck work. Seek improvements to the systems and suggest, and any out improvements and modifications to the systems. Participating in PGS's training program
