I founded the company Mendel in a Box which provides genetics teaching kits for teachers in biology classes of secondary schools in Germany. Students can grow plants in their classrooms and learn the laws of Mendelian inheritance through observation of the plant characteristics.

I regularly moderate and present at science slams in Germany. Science Slams are all about science communication to a laymen audience. I have helped establish the regular Science Slam at the Waschhaus Potsdam in cooperation with the University of Potsdam.

I am investigating Heat Stress memory in Arabidopsis thaliana at the group of Prof. Isabel Bäurle. For this I am doing characterizations of a forward genetics screen using different transcriptomic and proteomic analyses as well as NGS.

I was a tutor for an exercise in the basics of genetics for bachelor's students for two years and gave two lectures in front of roughly 100 students.

I was the Co-team leader of the iGEM team of Potsdam for 2019. We were trying to develop a neural network which can perform directed evolution of proteins towards more thermostable protein variants.
