I have been retired since July 2015.

I was promoted to the FLS position in Septmeber of 2004. I started that position in Streator and was transfered to the Pontiac headquarters a short time later after the company was able to fill the Streator opening. Having experience as a Lineman, Operating Dispatcher and Work Planner made the promotion to the Supervisor position easy as far the work was concerened. I did all job walkdowns and manhour estimates for all jobs in the work schedule out 12 weeks in the schedule. I did all prejob walkdowns with the company Engineers for any issues prior to the final prints coming out and the job entering the schedule. I did safety walkdowns at each jobsite. I directed the crews on their daily work and did all daily crew makeups. I walked down all switching verifying isolation points and arranginging any outages. I worked within the company's SRS system arranging the switching. I worked daily with the Work Week Managers planning work and dealing with any emergent problems or manpower issues. I did numerous safety audits weekly. I arranged and gave weekly safety meetings and provided the morning safety huddles. I briefed the crews in the morning for the daily work and received their debriefing when they arrived back in to end their day. I walked down and arranged any switching and materials for all emergent work. I worked closely with the crews during storm restoration on larger outages. I worked closely with customers on new business jobs and emergent work. I monitored OMS during the day for any potential problems with the system and single outage tickets. I pulled weekly Duty every other week and was Backup Duty Foreman in the week between. I reported to the sites of major outages when on duty during the weekends and any other emegencies that required my presence. I did daily conference calls and reported to many meetings neccessary during the week.

After the company initiated the "Exelon Way" program I asked to be transferded back to the OCC as an Operating Dispatched again. I was there until I was promoted in September of 2004.

I planned all weelky and emergent work for the Overhead Construction Dept for Streator/Pontiac. I worked closely with the Work Week Mnagers to get a good leveled work schedule 12 weeks out into the schedule. I made sure materials were delivered for the upcoming work and arranged switching on the 4, 12 and 34KV systems. I did safety walkdowns of the work locations and did job estimates. I preplanned work pouches and managed all emergent work including making up the pouches and doing any walkdowns needed. I assisted the FLS in each area with any additional work they needed help with. I was the only Work Planner in the Com Ed system that pulled weekly duty rotaion with the two FLS's. I also filled in for both FLS's for vacations and any other absences. I called in JULIES and did any preplanning needed to make the jobs were ready to go on execution week. I did this for one year.

I was promoted to the Operating Dispatcher position in June of 1999. I was trained an work with the OMS and SRS systems within Com Ed. I directed the Troublemen and crews on trouble tickets and outages. I worked feeder lockouts and performed routine and emergent switching on the 4 and 12KV systems. I directed the crews to the operating devices on the system to restore power and isolate areas for repairs. I worked in the SRS system and work emergent switching routines for trouble and some routine maintenance. I worked closely with the Load Dispatchers for daily routine work and emergent work. I also worked with th Arrangers for feeder switching. I worked at the OCC until taking a lateral promotion in August of 2002.

Worked all secondary and primary voltages. Trained in and gloved all voltages up to and including 12KV. Ultra High Voltage trained including 345KV work on both wood and steel structures. I installed and repaired Underground utilities in the secondary and primary voltages in the distribution system. I was on call for emergent work 24/7. I am trained in pole climbing and aerial bucket operations. I have operated many different types of aerial lift trucks, trenchers, backhoes, crawlers and truck and trailer combinations. I held a CDL as a lineman. I am CPR and First Aid trained. I was one of the CPR and First Aid Trainers before Com Ed decided to contract that work out. I was the Pontiac Union Steward for over 10 years. I was also the Overhead Safety Rep for the barn. I worked this position until I was promoted to management in June of 1999.

Performed the work of a janitor on the second shift doing cleaning and minor maintenance in the classrooms, shops and restrooms in and around the building.
