Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting for BCBSMA, my primary responsibilities include:> Financial Close: Preparation of the monthly internal Statutory operating statements and underlying supporting financial exhibits, memos and summaries for close meetings with executive leadership, as well as other ad hoc reporting as necessary. >Statutory Reporting: Responsible for preparing numerous claims and premium schedules/ exhibits, filed with the Department of Insurance and NAIC on a quarterly and annual basis.>Health Care Reform: Responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge related to the Affordable Care Act, specifically as it relates to Medical Loss Ratio reporting. Preparation of monthly monitoring reports of the MLR for federal rebate regulations, and the annual Federal MLR-A template. >Oracle/Hyperion: Responsible for maintaining financial reports run via the Hyperion system, and administration of the GL and product hierarchies within the Hyperion environment.

Working from the NASCO office in Atlanta, GA, my primary responsibilities include the migration of billing to the NASCO platform of Metavance, and the Medical Loss Ratio project including filings created due to Health Care Reform for Federal and State agencies. Will also play major part during the financial monthly close reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries of staff accountants.

Responsible for all premium receivables for the US subsidiary as well as multiple adhoc projects. Completing monthly management reporting for the Underwriting Committee and group consolidation.

Responsible for all premium accounting and specifically the Medicare lines of business. Position also includes wide range of other duties including: preparing DOI exhibits, quartlery and anual financial statement footnotes, the oversight of Oracle A/R subledger and General Ledger accounts, and ad hoc financal projects.
