CurrentAssist in developing, strategizing and managing the Member's legislative agenda.Responsible for managing the Member’s legislative bill package throughout the legislative process, which includes: preparing floor and committee statements; gathering research and background information; drafting fact sheets and related materials that clearly lay out information; and gathering support from stakeholders and legislative co-author.Prepare the Member for Committee and Floor presentations including developing talking points.Prepare the Member for Floor Session including weekly briefings; preparing all floor documents; analyzing and making recommendations on pending legislation, and assisting in Floor Ceremonies in which the Member was a participant.Primary contact for legislative questions and inquiries from lobbying firms, advocates, organizations and Capitol inquiries.Collaborate with bill sponsors, committee and leadership staff, lobbyist, advocates, and interest groups on policy issues including higher education, K-12 education, transportation, labor, and public safety.Advise the Member on the issues and legislation that come before the Assembly Committee on Higher Education and the Select Committee on Campus Climate.
