I've been using Drafting programs (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, etc.) ever since I was a freshman in High School! I like to think I know those programs inside and out. The best part is: if one of those programs doesn't do what I think it should, I can make it! I'm proficient in using Visual Studio with a .NET language in order to create custom programs, applications, internal custom commands, and plug-ins. I've also implemented document storage systems AND the custom programming of those as well (Autodesk Vault, Solidworks PDM, SharePoint, etc.).I've been in the Mechanical Engineering industry in many different aspects: weapons and defense, storage tanks both small pressurized and large scale tanks, aluminum can production and plant design, small machine shop parts, and small bit of automotive design as well. What I remember most of those positions was all the different types of creativity used. The only problem was, getting to do the "fun and creative stuff" was very rare and sometimes far between the monotony of repetitive projects. That's where my skill set for programming came in to play. By using custom programming and plug-ins, I let my automation do the boring, whilst I could focus on the design aspects of my jobs. However, I decided that letting others benefit from my programming made more sense, and made the companies I worked for more money. Plus, it made my co-workers happier and easier to work with. So it was a win-win.My customers and co-workers have always told me I'm pleasant to work around/with. The only downside, is I tend to say "yes" a bit too much. Not that I can't get it done, but rather, that my "plate gets a little too full."My ultimate goal is to remove the monotonous, the boring, and the repetitive, which in turn increases productivity by means of less to no errors, speedier processes, and happier workers. No job is too specific or "too complicated" for my type of custom programming, I've heard it all, and always proved otherwise; but I'll never rub your face in it. We're all working together for the same goal, and, at the end of the day, it's all simple math and 1's and 0's.

OwnerSpires Drafting Automation Oct 2019 - Jun 2023St Louis, Missouri, United StatesCustomers contact me and I remove the monotony of Drafting Practices. If something is ever typed once, it need not typed again. Repetition of even the tiniest of tasks can create errors. I like to take any data management, drawing manipulation, and even document creation and make them "non-events." Drafting shouldn't be a data entry position. Rather than create more tasks for a user to learn, or create a "new" way to do things, I just remove the "boring" and sometimes extremely time consuming tasks. That way a drafter can focus on being creative rather than "drawing the same thing over and over again, but this time the material is 1/8" thicker."

Computer Aided Design AdministratorTank Connection Jun 2011 - Aug 2015Parsons, Kansas, United StatesMy job started out as one of the things I try to prevent anyone in the Drafting field to go through: drawing the same thing over and over, but with only minor changes. I went through multiple job changes but eventually ended up as the company's CAD Administrator. I oversaw anything CAD related: installation of software, user error tickets, and even to the building of the Drafting Computers as well. I implemented Autodesk Vault and tried to keep it as seamless and painless as possible. Before I left do to family reasons, we were in the works of making an Automation Department. The goal of which was to increase productivity and reduce errors by removing monotony from the equation.
