Sound™ has expanded its arsenal of veterinary equipment beyond digital radiography and diagnostic ultrasound to its Emerging Technologies line. These most recent enhancements include portable CT scanners, C-Arm fluoroscopy systems, and regenerative and therapeutic lasers.My job was to combine expertise in sales, marketing, and product development to create, manage, and grow this sector of SOUND's business.

Electronic Brachytherapy is an innovative solution in radiation oncology that uses the well-established tumor killing of x-rays without the collateral damage to healthy cells inevitable with external beam therapy. My job is to combine my experinece in clinical radiation oncology, my expertise in radiation's interaction with biological matter, and my familiarity with the veterinary marketplace to re-introduce this technology to the veterinarians and provide them a tool that can save patients' lives.

Laser biostimulation is an invaluable tool employed by chiropractors, physical therapists, podiatrists, dermitologists, and veterinarians for the treatment of a variety of conditions. Unfortunately this young field has suffered from the zeal of its boosters; people had found a way to make money, and to their defense, improve patient quality of life, and so were much less interested in learning why this therapy worked. In this last decade, the research community has been catching up and we have ever-growing insight into the mechanisms of this highly successful modality.My job consists of educating both our sales and marketing departments as well as the doctors whose practice can reap these benefits. I provide technical expertise towards the biophysical mechanisms of action, as well as the physical functionality of the laser. I collect experimental data on the 3-dimensional dose deposition profile of the beam and perform industry-wide literature reviews. Perhaps most importantly, I squash myths that are spread through the enormous amount of mud-slinging between competitors and write objective briefs to guide doctors through the mud to have a more fundamental idea of the mechanisms and benefits of laser phototherapy.
