Medically manage assistance cases from insurance companies/ private individuals. Arranging safe repatriation of injured persons using land and air. Liaising with clinics, hospitals, doctors and airlines to arrange safe returns.Role also involves flying 5 days a month to repatriate injured persons and recruitment of nurses interested in the medical repatriation/ aviation sector.Skills include knowledge of other counties healthcare systems, knowledge of all medical conditions, ability to communicate knowledge to a non medical audience and audit of medical reports/ costs over appropriateness of treatment and if reasonable and customary expenses.Large part of role is taking sometimes limited information and formulating a plan to repatriate the person in the safest way within the guidelines of commercial carriers. Ability for fast thinking and problem solving is an essential part of the role.
