I think it was summed up best when I heard " You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with" by Jim Rohn. I have found that to be tremendously important in any pursuit.I grew up in a household where I saw both of my parents own businesses. I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be my own boss. When I was in my early 20's, I started to study a guy named Robert Kiyosaki, who began to open my mind about creating asset generated income versus me having to work for an income. I learned that wealth wasn't determined by how much money you created, but how much time you created. I was so inspired that I started my company at 23. I also wanted to be the boss but up until that point I didn't have the connections to do so. After a series of events, networking with the right people and earning their mentorship I found a way that I could have full control of my life versus living a life that a corporation tells me I can live.I think we have been asked the wrong question. People ask us at a very early age "What do you want to do?". With no life experience and understanding of just what it takes, I think that is a foolish question. Really, the question should be "How do you want to live?" then reverse engineer it to see what needs to be done to get there. What attracted me to my mentors, other than the fact that they became financially free in their young 30's, was that they began to teach me about not necessarily loving what I do, but loving the life that what I do produces. We have been very blessed to create an ongoing income that has bought back our time. Time with each other, our son, family and just pursing our passions. But, what we are most passionate about today is mentoring others. We consider it an honor & privilege to be able to walk through life with people, help them identify their passions & gifts, but really excel in that area so they can go help others. We understand the battle that is ahead with such a time as now, but we accept the challenge and look forward to helping more families find fulfillment and create a family legacy.
