The past 5 years I have focused on developing my role as a Communications Coordinator, an integral role that involved significant attention to detail, staying organized and diplomacy.As a Customer Service Agent for WestJet, I began my career in Toronto before transferring to Ottawa in 2005. Here I had the opportunity to learn and grow with numerous people who were equally as passionate about providing high quality customer service. This was always a fast paced environment where I would assist a high volume of guests. The role changed over time and there was always continuous learning and development happening. I was able to use my empowerment in my decision making. I was nominated for Ottawa's Stars of the City in the tourism industry for providing memorable and exceptional service.Prior to my career at WestJet, I was the Conference Coordinator at Humber College. I ran the daily operations for approximately 3 years when it came to Events & Accommodations. I would liaise with many departments throughout campus to ensure our clients received everything they needed to make they’re event successful. During my time in this role I launched a new Reservation System and I was responsible to work with the provider to develop the key functions of the program. Once launched, I ensured that all staff were trained on the program and I provided ongoing support. As a Conference Coordinator I would assist groups from booking, to when they were on site and following up afterwards, including billing.Building a strong team environment, professionalism and loving what I do is the base of my motivation. Leading by example and creating a positive work environment is my daily goal…and let’s have some fun along the way!
