  • Box
Winner & Global Champion- Box Bad Holiday Sweater Competition
    Box Dec 2016 - Apr 2020
    Redwood City, Ca, Us
The Box Global Ugliest Holiday Sweater Competition is where the companies' most fierce and accomplished Bad Sweater competitors make an annual pilgrimage each December. Former winners are known to train and shop for as many as 10 months each year just to increase their chances of making the finals. This all-star event is known in every corner of the cloud world eclipsed only by the super bowl in annual viewership . Many have called it the "Grand daddy of sweater-offs". One industry historian even called it the "Hall of fame for bad-fashion sports."I dug deep this year. My family and I pulled together, focused on a growth mindset and paid our dues. We realized the morning of the competition that we didn't actually own anything bad enough to win. Overcoming that setback, we got the creative juices flowing and affixed various ridiculous Christmas ornaments to a reasonably attractive gifted sweater. To assure a chance at victory, we also attached a very large one-eyed snowman sewn by Amanda's grandma twenty or thirty years ago. In other words, we pulled out all the stops.Box employee audience members assembled for this year's highly contentious competition had this feedback to share after the second and final nerve-racking round of audience participation voting: "Unbelievable", "Spot on", and "Wow, we've never seen ornament selection of that caliber here at Box. Well played, Bryan. Well played, sir." I'll cherish this win always knowing that victories like this may come but once in a Box career.FYI- I donated ALL my prize money ($50 USD) to the Box.org Help All Thrive Fund which can be found and enlarged with your support here- http://box.brightfunds.org/funds/box-org-justice-equality-for-all-fund
