My most important role is that of husband and father. I have a beautiful wife and four amazing children, all of whom are autistic. This has taught me patience and appreciation for each of their strengths and weaknesses and compassion for other people. Professionally, over my career I have been responsible for many different business functions. I did well at all of them, but wouldn't say I'm an expert at any single one. However, I am an expert at directional strategy and aligning all of those functions to drive toward the organizations goals. I live direction and I live speed! Take it one step further and I get really excited--building an organizational culture where people love to work, are held accountable, where individuals progress and teams are strong and turnover is low. It begins with OBSESSING about the customer!That's my expertise!For sixteen years I worked for an EdTech company called AboveTraining Inc, which built a proprietary learning tech platform and was also an online publisher. For the last six years I served as the companies Chief Executive Officer, where the team doubled revenue and quadrupled net income, much of it was during the pandemic.Following that companies divestiture (twice actually in the same year) to private equity, I became acutely aware of strategic differences between entrepreneurship and small business leadership and the goals of private equity. Soon thereafter, I started Beast Consulting, which provides strategic support and leadership development to small business owners and operators. The majority of work includes directional strategy work (mission, vision, core values, business direction) and its marriage to operational functions and processes. Clients include those in the professional services and EdTech sectors. My proudest career accomplishments? #1 Developing raw employees into specialized professionals, helping them get further with the team than they could otherwise!#2 Creating, implementing, and teaching directional and competitive strategy to the entire team, and then being smart enough to get out of their way!#3 Establishing a foundation to support growth, evaluate employees, and align on vision. Creating a system that allows employees to all be rowing in the same direction with transparency, accountability, and shared successes. I am grateful for all the employees, friends, acquaintances, mentors, and competitors that have shaped me into the leader I am today and look forward to contributing in my next adventure!
