After a decade working as a Social Worker with diverse communities, I am committed to continue making the world and vulnerable populations safe. Over the past several years, I have been trying to keep up with the many security breaches that have happened in our world. It was eye opening to see how vast these attacks were, and the extent to which people were affected. I’ve always been interested in making a difference, even if it is in the smallest way possible, which is why I am making a career change in the technical world. After many years of serving many concentrated communities, I am looking to transition into a field that will allow me to serve those on a much broader scale.Over the years, I have acquired skills such as problem solving, investigating, critical thinking, adaptability and empathy. Further, I’ve used database management software to collect and analyze data from my caseload and coordinated services and projects for my clients to complete their court-ordered case plan. I’ve always worked in fast-paced environments and adapted quickly to the changing needs and priorities of my respective organizations.I am currently enrolled in a skills-based cybersecurity certificate program through California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). As I am transitioning into a new field, I am planning to pursue entry-level cybersecurity roles while I am still enrolled in my certificate program. Through this program I have participated in several practical labs and hands-on training from highly skilled and esteemed industry professionals. I am excited about using my transferable skills and expertise to contribute to the growing and dynamic field of cybersecurity. Please contact me should you find my experience and qualifications suitable for your organization.CompTIA Security+ Certification expected February 2025.Key Skills: Windows Server, Microsoft Security Administration, Active Directory, Linux Fundamentals.
