Summer Camp Counselor/Cares Counselor
West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States
* While taking community college courses, I would work a morning and afternoon shift, usually 1.5-3.5 hours each, as a Cares Counselor* Supervised morning drop-off, helping to get students ready for the day and ensuring they used their energy wisely* Worked and helped with after school care programs, typically watching kids aged 4-7 for most of the time, and then staying till the end with the few remaining students* In the Summer worked from 9-6 weekdays, watching my group of 20+, 4 and 5 year olds bound for the bright lights of kindergarten, staying till the last camper left typically* Supervised field trips to various locations, usually occurred every other week, maybe a bit less infrequently* My kids weren’t allowed to bring electronics nor use them particularly during the day at camp, this provided a challenge and made work more challenging, nothing I couldn’t handle I suppose
