I was the Second Shift supervisor at US Endoscopy which is a division of Steris. I managed two departments directly and two more indirectly through shift support. Primary duties included implementation and management of lean cells, safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.

I was responsible for all plant operations and ownership of the plant metrics including, OTD, Quality, Safety, Scrap, FPY, Shipping Costs and Freight Damage. I established operator daily machine maintenance program and worked with the Locker Line Team and the Forming Cell Team to reorganize them using common Lean and one-piece flow line principles.Develop the Group Leaders to effectively run their departments to meet or excede customer expectations, eliminate waste and maitain established productivity levels.

I was foremost the department supervisor for most of the production lines at the Delaware plant. I was responsible for the plant metrics for each area OTD, Quality, Thruput and Safety. I scheduled units to be built in order of customer priority and the availability of required components. Through the Continuous Improvement philosophy I had to increase thruput by 3% annually, improve RTY and DPMO opportunities by working with suppliers both internal and external. I also was responsible for developing the team coordinators professional development and to be able to assume future duties as Coaches.

I maintained the MRP for manufactured parts and monitor usage trends while adjusting safety stock levels, performing inter-plant transfers and expediting parts for priority orders. I tracked down distressed inventory, generated pick lists and created transfer orders between plants.Another duty was to assist the Logistics Manager in reducing inventory costs by monitoring product life cycles and adjusting the MRP to maintain customer service levels. I ordered purchased parts from vendors and issue purchase orders. Other duties included monitoring damaged parts in inventory and then send them out for rework, pick sales orders from daily reports and purchase bought parts from Liebert vendors.
