As a senior at Florida Atlantic University majoring in Civil Engineering, I combine solid academic knowledge with practical field experience. My academic path has included courses in soil mechanics, applied hydraulics, and structure analysis, highlighted by a subdivision design project. In this project, I developed a parcel, maximizing lot numbers, designing a retention pond, and addressing complex utilities and site grading challenges. These classes and among others, along with the various professors at FAU, have hugely impacted and helped me pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.Professionally, my journey extends into the realm of MEP, more specifically, HVAC design. Despite my academic background in civil engineering, I have accumulated five years of experience in residential HVAC design, where I have adeptly conducted energy and heat load calculations for various spaces, ranging from small 100 sqft areas to large 18,000+ sqft projects. My technical skills include using software like the Hourly Analysis Program (HAP), Wrightsoft, and EnergyGauge for both residential and commercial projects. I also embraced the role of CAD manager, facilitating coordination meetings with contractors, architects, and clients, ensuring smooth project workflows. My role extends beyond technical skills to include mentorship and leadership. I have guided new hires, overseen interns, and maintained a positive team spirit during high-pressure projects. This positive approach has been important in enhancing team morale and productivity.Currently, as a Civil Engineering Intern at Kimley-Horn, I am gaining hands-on experience in civil engineering, increasing my skill set and knowledge. Having passed the FE exam, my next career goal is to pass the Professional Engineering (PE) examination and to ultimately earn the PE licensure. I am a firm believer in the power of a positive outlook, always searching for the silver lining in every situation. I view each day as a new opportunity to be the best version of myself and make a meaningful impact wherever I go.
