I started my career in Business & Information Technology in 1983. Over the years the intersection of these two passions would define my professional career. By 1990 I helped found one of the first I.T. consulting firms in Birmingham. We focused on not just technology, but how technology empowered all different types of businesses. When I sold that company to InLine, my dual aptitude as a technology engineer combined with my passion for business rapidly catapulted me to the leadership team, & in 2010 to the CEO role. While in that role I oversaw 25% growth in revenues. I did this through a combination of employee engagement, streamlining offerings, & identifying compelling new services. I have always believed the key to success in any business is the development & engagement of your team. My proudest accomplishment during that tenure was the team leaders I coached and developed at all levels of InLine. It is in this crucible that the principles of Level 5 were honed. Things like Employee Engagement in a shared mission instead of micro-management & task lists. How to bring the power of Management by Measurement, and it's ability to cut through the fog and finger-pointing, down to a level of simplicity where they could be used in small and medium businesses. Learning how the power of robust and repeatable systems could improve outcomes while reducing the need for constant management oversight. In late 2012 I realized I was more passionate about sharing & teaching these lessons than I was about the business of I.T. It was from this passion that Level 5 was born.In 2014 I was given the opportunity to take all the lessons I learned in building two seven figure MSP practices and apply them to transforming the world of Digital Signage into a vehicle for organizations to affordably reach citizens, employees, clients, members, and students in dynamic and compelling ways that speak to the internet generation.
