At BlackBerry I lead a team to design and implement a new distributed system architecture that would enable the integration and consolidation of a variety of core BlackBerry products. This included leading an initial core tiger team to establish the overall project design, reliability and performance metrics, integration goals, cost estimates, and delivery schedules.The team and I implemented an initial version of the core services required leveraging the newly designed CI/CD processes and best practices to demonstrate the ability to quickly onboard new services to the architecture but to also demonstrate the ability to roll out integrations of existing systems.After designing and implementing the initial version I lead the continued development of the platform while also meeting with teams across the BlackBerry product lines to guide and advise them both tactically and strategically to deliver a unified product leveraging the new platform and processes. This included advising them on design, integration, security, performance, and scalability concerns. I evaluated requirements and worked with Sales and Product Management to negotiate and prioritize features and scheduling of the roadmap and go to market plans.In addition, I managed a distributed team responsible for the delivery of the BlackBerry Platform REST APIs to be used by all Spark Services. My responsibilities included not only working directly with developers on design and integration requirements but also interfacing with QA, performance engineering, and operations on making sure the system is resilient and reliable.

I led a team of 10 developers and testers in the process of rearchitecting and implementing Attachmate’s flagship product post merger with WRQ. This consisted of evaluating the Attachmate and WRQ product line and designing an architecture that would allow us to rearchitect the product in .NET while maintaining feature parity and providing a foundation for future growth.

I designed, wrote, and maintained various components of TeamOn’s web based groupware application. The application was written on Linux with Java Servlets, SQL, WebDAV, and IMAP. The HTML delivery included JavaScript and DHTML elements.

I managed and maintained the employee interface to the Employease Network™. The employee interface consisted of various applications designed to allow employees a secure, managed way of accessing their company information. I was responsible for scheduling, leading, designing, and developing key features and components.

I was responsible for designing and writing an extensible, reusable Java XML UI framework. This consisted of a generic ASP back end to deliver both the XML and data. I also worked on various features of Attachmate’s first Java based application.
