I was in charge of full stack development, reporting directly to the CEO. I managed a small team and spearheaded a strategic shift toward a more diversified product line. I had previously spent over 2 years as a technical lead, working primarily in new development initiatives. I was the principle engineer on the new brand development product, NameFind, was the lead engineer on the redesign of Afternic and am the lead engineer on the redesign of BuyDomains. I spearheaded the conversion of all frontend products to an MVC architecture and developed systems-critical applications for domain and data processing, including a highly-scalable light-weight queueing system. I also developed the core API exchange and management suite.

OnForce is a trusted national employment service that connects buyers with highly skilled service professionals through an online-only marketplace. I developed a turnkey API solution for a very high-profile and highly trafficked client, written entirely in PHP using CakePHP, with a strong emphasis on design and efficiency.

ShapeUp, Inc. is a social network and wellness platform that works with Fortune 500 companies to help their employees improve their health by harnessing the power of group activity. I was one of the original employees, and I helped architect the second incarnation of the software platform, together with two other engineers. The end result was a very load-tolerant LAMP-based website and service built atop a custom MVC framework. I also maintained the internal infrastructure, building servers and managing corporate services. ShapeUp, Inc. continues to grow very rapidly and is expanding further into the wellness space.

Garment Valet offers luxury delivery laundry and dry-cleaning services at affordable prices to the Greater Boston area. I was one of the original team members, and the first software engineer, and I designed and developed a customized solution for both customer-facing services and internal resource management applications. All services were built and managed in-house using a custom LAMP architecture, and I built and maintained the network and security infrastructure of the company. I also grew an engineering team, managed personnel and budgeting, and created a functional multi-purpose technology department.

This was my second internship while studying at Northeastern University. I developed VBA .NET applications for the equity trading staff, largely centered around report creation for investors and clients. Reverse-engineered a poorly documented database (Unicode) to use older stored data for report creation. Developed stored functions for PostgreSQL database, and created an abstract meta-data based spreadsheet creation and management tool.

This was my first internship while studying at Northeastern University. Developed intranet applications using ColdFusion, PHP and MSSQL Server. Designed and developed a shipping and receiving application for company-wide management, as well as built an internationally used document management system, content indexing algorithm and search engine.
