Western Sound Studio is a multi-track recording facility on the campus of Western Michigan University. It serves as a classroom for students of a series of courses in multi-track audio production and is open to clients. I have served as the assistant manager and as a staff sound engineer. I have been responsible for a calendar of over 100 concert recordings yearly, training of 8-10 student engineers and editors each semester to assist with this calendar of events, as well as maintaining an archive library sufficient for approved sales and NASM Accreditation of the School of Music. As a staff engineer, I have recorded hundreds of recitals and audition tapings, as well as multi-track sessions with rock, jazz, and orchestral ensembles. Between WSS and 37.ENT, I have engineered over 20 full-length albums. I also assisted with student learning outcomes, as my constant presence in the studio complex put me in a position to help with planning, logistics, and problem-solving with student-led sessions as necessary.
