Numerous SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 R2 servers supporting multiple security products.I also manage the network environment programming the Cisco 5596 Switches and multiple fabric extenders. In the initial stages of building out two CISCO UCS Blade Centers that will form a VCloud environment.

While at DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency) I implement DISA STIG’s via Windows 2008 R2 AD GPO’s to secure the first Cloud implementation within DOD. Employing GPO’s in a layered manner to first secure, then counter GPO settings that adversely impacted applications such as IIS, SQL, SCCM and Exchange.

Currently engaged as a Sr System Administrator with DISA supporting a critical application. Providing Systems Administration of on sight and remote servers. Performing Patch Management, Active Directory, Exchange 2007 SP3 and a mix of IIS 6 & 7.5 servers. Developed sound Patch Management of servers on SIPR & NIPR Networks via WSUS implementation in addition to authoring security related GOP’s to ensure DISA STIG compliance.Upon arriving at the Agency DISA I participated in the first C&A effort for Windows 2008 R2 systems, developing targeted GPO’s to ensure the environment was as secure as possible. In addition to that effort I implemented a Windows 2003 upgrade to Windows 2008 R2 system providing Exchange and Certificate services to the Domain.In addition to system monitoring I implemented a Site Disaster Recovery plan and ensured the backups of critical test and validation systems. Providing data Restores of critical data on an as needed basis utilizing Backup Exec 2010 and Windows 2008 R2 Backup utilities in addition to Windows Deployment Services.

Developed sound Patch Management methodology utilizing AD/GPO distribution in addition to client management. Providing timely interaction between users and remote developers to support a critical GOTS package used to keep the production of data running at peak efficiency. Upon arriving at the Agency I brought the site from an Agency “F” rating from an Information Security/Patch management Scoring perspective up to a solid “A” through continuous process and improvement and system management moving both sites to top 7% of all Consulate Affairs Offices. In addition to system monitoring I rewrote the Site Disaster Recovery plan and ensured the daily backups were function without issue. Providing data Restores of critical data on an as needed basis.
