Responsible for the development of embedded Linux software for control systems products within the Building Efficiency business.Wrote provisioning software to update devices using Linux to provision Windows CE images on devices.Manipulated the MBR and changed partition sizes on the fly to provision smaller image sizes then resize them in place.Coordinated and participated in Software Requirements, Design and Code reviews/inspections.Helped other software teams transition from Windows to Linux.

As part of the WiMAX/LTE team, developed software in C for embedded Linux applications for the Motorola Wireless Broadband infrastructure.Developed new functionality for a WiMAX GPS system to utilize an Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) timing source to allow for GPS outages. This was developed in C on a Freescale based Microprocessor embedded Linux system, and utilized ClearCase for version control.Integrated WiMAX SW to be used in the NextNet system for Clearwire to ensure a seamless upgrade of their high availability real time network. This was designed in C++, porting the user interface to Motorola hardware.As part of the iDEN team, developed Software Requirement Specifications for Motorola's mobile phone network infrastructure. Utilized V-Model processes.Wrote code to enable subscribers to make nationwide push-to-talk calls for Nextel, utilizing C programming and ClearCase.Used Perl extensively in process improvement and test automation activities.Favorite Perl module is Parse::RecDescent.Used Perl every day to improve productivity from personal one liners to a full GUI application to automate a test environment.Reduced engineering work load by 5% using Perl to automate sanity testing. Used Perl Expect.pm with SSH to automatically network to various boxes under test to automatically run tests, log output and scan for successes and errors.Reduced issue deciphering time by writing Perl scripts to parse header files and filter debug logs, making the logs easier to analyze.Wrote a Perl GUI to help test teams analyze and debug console logs and Ethernet traces. Used IO::Socket.pm and IPC::Open2.pm to fork multiple processes so the testing GUI could be run from any machine networked to the machine under test. Used Perl/MySQL to implement a customer issue tracking database to analyze, troubleshoot, and verify customer issues in a quick and easy manner.

Developed embedded process control software, utilizing C++ for monitoring and analysis of a sterilization process.Performed software validation for several business units. This included interacting with teams in writing plans and procedures for use on medical diagnostic software.
