About Bryan Leaw

I am an Australian and New Zealand registered patent and trade marks attorney passionate about intellectual property and the commercialisation of science and technology. I primarily work with clients in the medical and pharmaceutical sector, utilising my extensive background in neuroscience and stem cell research to help manage and protect their intellectual property portfolio, in addition to developing their commercial strategy. My scientific background started in cutting-edge epilepsy research as a neurophysiologist, measuring nanocurrent signals in epileptic brains and exploring new anti-epileptic treatments. I trained as a postdoctoral fellow and clinical researcher in Melbourne's largest public health service studying the potential use of allogeneic stem cell therapies in cerebral palsy as well as clinical research in maternal and fetal medicine, including clinical trials. In 2016 I was made a Winston Churchill Fellow in recognition of my achievements in science, and was awarded the Churchill Medallion from the Hon Linda Dessau AM CF at the Government House. The Churchill Fellowship granted me a once in a lifetime opportunity to complete a research project in the USA as part of a world-leading research group studying allogenic stem cell transplantation therapies in cerebral palsy.

Listed skills include Immunohistochemistry, Neuroscience, Electrophysiology, Molecular Biology, and 29 others.
