This operation combined two firsts for BP Alaska: (1) an extensive foam cleanout to stimulate the well, and (2) deployment of Corod for a surface-driven progressing cavity pump. • Wrote the Basis of Design document for Arctic CHOPS completions and established recommended practices for Heavy Oil Well Operations (where no precedent existed in BP).• Wrote drilling procedure for first Heavy Oil Horizontal CHOPS well in Alaska.
