• Led the pre-rig abandonment planning and intervention activity for the Valhall DP Well Abandonment campaign, recognized as being a key to success of the jack-up program where 13 wells were abandoned in the time planned for six at 559 days ahead of project plan and $255 million under budget on the most complex abandonment program in the BP Group. • Developed cross-functional objectives and streamlined decision making processes while satisfying BP and NORSOK requirements on well abandonments, challenged due to severe reservoir and overburden subsidence, wellbore collapse, sustained casing pressure and lack of annular cement between 9 Distinct Permeable Zones.

• Designed Coiled Tubing, E-line, Slickline Well Intervention operations for extremely high value oil wells (up to 25,000 bopd) offshore in the Caspian Sea. Managed their successful execution, resulting in significant increases in oil production.• Safely planned and executed new-to-region technology project for sand cleanouts using Concentric Coiled Tubing equipment. Coordinated BP Peer Reviews and training sessions with global industry experts. This technology is a technical & economic success and a game-changer in restoring production to failed Open Hole Gravel Pack screen completions. It is still being used by BP in Azerbaijan and has been used in the North Sea.• Coached and Mentored Azerbaijani Well Intervention Engineers.

• Wrote Rig Workover (RWO) procedures for tubing repair, intermediate casing cut & pull, surface casing repair, wellhead repair, scab liners, fishing, cement squeeze, clean-outs and Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) changes. Managed cost, efficiency, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance associated with RWO operations. Wrote technical specs for Arctic RWO rig contract and evaluated proposals for rig selection. • Developed and delivered training on Rig Workovers and Fishing to junior engineers, as part of their mentoring.• Designed first Cold, Heavy Oil Production with Sand (CHOPS) completion in Alaska, which resulted in "first oil" from multi-billion-barrel Ugnu formation. Specified construction and procurement of specialized Well-service equipment. Proposed well control plans to the Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission for deploying continuous sucker rod (Corod). This operation combined two firsts for BP Alaska: (1) an extensive foam cleanout to stimulate the well, and (2) deployment of Corod for a surface-driven progressing cavity pump. • Wrote the Basis of Design document for Arctic CHOPS completions and established recommended practices for Heavy Oil Well Operations (where no precedent existed in BP).• Wrote drilling procedure for first Heavy Oil Horizontal CHOPS well in Alaska.

• Well Site Leader on Coiled Tubing (CT) Units (~2 yrs) - planned and supervised 7-10 CT jobs/month: acid stimulation, cement squeeze, plug & abandonment, perforating, logging, fishing, fill clean-out and non-rig workover.• Planned and executed the world's first “field trial” using 16Chrome Coiled tubing as a workstring. Co-authored an SPE paper on that subject, also published in Oil & Gas Journal. • Well Site Leader on Wireline Units - planned and supervised 2-4 E-line jobs/day: perforating, logging, chemical cutting, setting plugs, video logs and non-rig workovers.• Well Integrity Engineer - designed diagnostic and repair procedures for wells with mechanical integrity problems. Helped develop BP Alaska Well Integrity Policy, cornerstone for the Well Integrity Policy across BP.• Coached and mentored new engineers and Well Site Leaders in E-line & Coiled Tubing operations.
