Glanris is a climate-tech company that manufactures a patented, sustainable, low-cost biocarbon from agricultural waste products like rice hulls and straws, walnut shells, and tree waste. Our biocarbon is used in water filtration, cement replacements, and as a soil amendment. Today, these ag waste products are either burned in the fields or dumped in landfills, neither of which are environmentally friendly. Glanris' process is carbon-negative, reduces greenhouse gases, and sequesters carbon. Our carbon credits are for sale on Puro.Earth. We are targeting growth to gigaton-scale direct sequestration at the lowest cost of any other sequestration methodology. Emerge Memphis was created by me to help early-stage, growth-oriented technology-based companies in Memphis. From 1999-2019, it provided incubation services out of its building on Tennessee Street. In 2019 we sold the building, exited the incubation services business, and partnered with Epicenter and Innova and created the $5 million Formation Fund, an evergreen fund run by the non-profit, Epicenter.The Formation Fund will focus on Memphis-based companies creating tech innovation in industries such as logistics, home services, medical tech, and ag-tech. Media4 was a pioneer in delivering Internet content over direct broadcast satellite networks. Wrote the business plan, assisted in negotiating venture financing and in the successful acquisition by EchoStar in 1999 for $48 million to form the basis for their Business Television DVR platform.

Skywire provided turnkey M2M and IoT application development and deployment. Customers included The Coca-Cola Company and its leading bottlers, Federal Express, Pepsi Cola, and others. The company was sold to British conglomerate Marconi in 1998.- Conceived and built Skywire from an idea into an operating company with 60 employees. Primary focus was strategic planning, business development, product development as well as the sales and marketing efforts. - Principle architect for both the hardware and the software systems, with detailed involvement in the database design as well as the graphical user interface.- Co-authored and was awarded two patents on telemetry monitoring systems.- Directed all aspects of sales and marketing including building relationships with every RBOC and major cellular provider and equipment manufacturer (Alcatel, Motorola, Ericsson, Nokia)- Authored several articles in trade and industry journals. Over 300 articles were written on the company including articles in Fortune and Inc magazines.- Raised over $12 million in seed and follow-on financing.
