Our team at ARCOS delved into the health of Chicago's waterways, analyzing the impact of regional water treatments on aquatic ecosystems. At Groundwork Milwaukee, we constructed ADA accessible gardens, enhancing urban spaces with green infrastructure. These roles harnessed my leadership and deepened my commitment to urban ecology. Currently studying Biology at Harold Washington College, I'm blending scientific exploration with hands-on environmental work. My goal is to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, fostering informed community participation in ecological conservation and community health through agriculture

Summer InternArcos Jun 2024 - Aug 2024P.I. Elisabet Head, myself and four other intern researchers go on an exploratory quest to determine the quality of the Chicago River and attached waterways on the city's northwest side. Together we gathered samples, tested, and anaylzed water at several points along the Chicago River leading up to the confluence. We asked and answered, what measurable effect. if any, does the regional water treatment facility have on the chemical quality of the water and local macroinvertebrate populations.
