Developing dashboards, databases, and models for co-workers and clients to use to get actionable information from their datasets of all shapes and sizes

- Calibrated the application of Replica to the Portland Metro area to supplement existing travel modeling capabilities. Replica is a travel modeling platform relying on GPS based probe data and the generation of a synthetic population.- Analyzed GPS probe data for understanding changing travel behavior in the Portland Metro area. - Laid off in good standing due to financial fallout from COVID-19 crisis.

- Developed numerous dashboards and databases for co-workers and clients to use to get actionable information from their datasets of all sizes and shapes. More details provided in work samples provided on the following page. - Played lead and support roles transit plans in urban areas (e.g., Portland, Seattle), rural areas (e.g., Eastern Oregon), and natural scenic areas (e.g., Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood). Understands how to apply bus transit service in a variety of contexts.- Supported parking studies from data collection to recommendations for both public and private clients. - Analyzed bicycle and pedestrian safety data for several projects in areas including Portland, OR and southern California.

• Collaborated with transportation planners and engineers at the Oregon Department of Transportation as well as transportation and computer science researchers at Portland State University to improve PORTAL, Portland’s regional transportation data archive.• Queried, analyzed, and interpreted large transportation data sets to pinpoint data quality issues and recommend improvements. • Designed and developed web site for documentation and interactive graphic display.

• Funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship • Assisted on data collection/analysis and wrote reports corresponding to ODOT project entitled “Design and Implementation of Pedestrian and Bicycle-Specific Data Collection Methods In Oregon” • Developing and utilizing smart phone application (ORcycle for Android and iOS) to evaluate bicycle compatibility measures on various bicycle facilities in Oregon. ODOT project entitled: “Evaluating the Use of Crowdsourcing as a Data Collection Method for Bicycle Performance Measures and Identification of Facility Improvement Needs”

• Performed topographical surveys and assembled technical drawings and site maps from the collected data using AutoCAD Civil 3D• Manufactured contract documents/plans and calculated quantities of construction bid items• Interfaced with contractors and public works members to implement various engineering requirements, such as road striping and drainage repairs

- Conducted historic research on land consumption and property tax revenue associated with parking facilities in six American downtowns.

• Conducted a study entitled “Investigation of an Efficient System to Harvest Clean Energy from Structural Vibrations” funded by UConn’s Office of Undergraduate Research• Optimized a mechanism utilizing electromagnetic induction to harvest energy from the vibration of a structural beam• Collected and tabulated data describing the relationship between induced voltage and the manipulated experimental variables

• Conducted a CTLS funded case study entitled “How Fifty Years of Transportation Policies Have Shaped New Haven, Connecticut”• Utilized ESRI ArcGIS to survey aerial photos in order to quantify the changes in transportation land consumption due to parking and street cover in New Haven over the past fifty years• Presented research poster at Connecticut ITE’s 8th Annual Student Research Symposium in Storrs, CT
