As the President of ALET, I had the privilege of leading an organization dedicated to promoting educational technology throughout Alabama. During my tenure, I was proud to be an instrumental voice in securing $11M in annual State funding for cybersecurity in Alabama's public schools. Additionally, I was able to grow the organization's membership by 43%, a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.As President, I presided over all meetings of the Board of Directors and served as Chairman of the Board. I was responsible for managing the operations of the organization, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. I also provided regular and special reports and recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning the work and affairs of the organization.Prior to serving as President, I held the position of Executive Vice President. In this role, I was responsible for planning functions, activities, conferences, and programs of the organization. I worked closely with other members of the leadership team to ensure that ALET was providing valuable resources and support to educators throughout the state.

As Chief Technology Officer, I have successfully led a team of network administrators, database administrators, technology integrationists, and technicians in support of the district’s technical and curricula initiatives. I also serve on the Superintendent’s Cabinet, where I plan and budget all technology purchases for the district, manage the overall network, and supervise the technology team.One of my notable achievements includes planning and implementing a one-student-to-one-device program for over 13,000 students, which has empowered them with 21st-century tools and skills for learning, creating, and collaborating. In addition, I achieved multi-million dollar cost savings in operations management through measurement, analysis, and process improvements.I also established and maintained an adaptive technology infrastructure strategy, developed, evaluated, and maintained policies, procedures, strategies, and technology rights management systems, and assisted the schools through the development and implementation of technology education and learning technologies that meet system needs.Furthermore, I established and maintained a highly secure technology environment and collaborated with the Alabama Department of Education and higher education to ensure that teachers, staff, and school administrators are prepared to use technology. As a result of my efforts, I was awarded the ISTE “Making It Happen” Award and invited to serve on Google’s “Think-Tank” and Customer Advisory Boards for Google EDU, Dell, Aruba, Lightspeed, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. I collaborated with other industry experts to provide product development and improvement feedback and insights.

As the Systems Administrator for Hoover City Schools, I provided administration and support for servers, networks, and workstations across 17 locations. I identified and implemented new networking solutions to meet the district's evolving needs, while proposing and evaluating new policies, procedures, and hardware for the network. In addition, I provided training on hardware and software to various personnel within the school system and kept up-to-date on current technological trends to ensure the network remained secure and efficient.

My goal was to empower educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to create dynamic and engaging learning experiences for students.I provided personalized coaching and support to teachers, helping them to develop their technology skills and incorporate digital tools into their lesson plans. I also collaborated with school administrators and district leaders to develop and implement technology initiatives that supported student learning.In addition, I stayed up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in educational technology, and worked to ensure that our schools had the resources and infrastructure necessary to support these innovations.
