With over two decades in educational technology, I’ve had the privilege of transforming school districts through innovative, student-centered solutions that enhance learning and communication. Steering Hoover City Schools as Chief Information Officer, my leadership was pivotal in spearheading transformative EdTech initiatives that expanded access, improved efficiency, and ensured security across our district. Among these, the one-student-to-one-device program stands out, impacting over 13,000 students and equipping them with essential digital learning tools that bridge classroom and home learning. This program, paired with strategic operational cost savings, underscores my commitment to enhancing educational experiences through thoughtful technology integration. As President of Alabama Leaders in Educational Technology (ALET), I had the opportunity to advocate for critical funding that supports cybersecurity and educational technology initiatives statewide. Through collaborative efforts, we secured $11M in annual state funding for cybersecurity and grew ALET’s membership by 43%, amplifying our collective impact and strengthening our influence across Alabama. My CETL certification has been a testament to my commitment to advancing K-12 technology, ensuring that every initiative serves both immediate needs and long-term goals.Today, as Regional Sales Director for ParentSquare, I’m excited to focus on building partnerships with schools and districts across Alabama, Missouri, Louisiana, and Georgia.
