I am Deaf, from a hearing family who did not, at the time, know anything about deafness. My mother was telling me that, when I was around six months old, she looked at me and noticed something was different but my dad thought nothing of it. Then a few years later, I started my life long journey of living well with my hearing loss at the age of three. It was scary considering I was suppose to graduate high school on a second grade reading level. My pediatric neurologist thought "I was bright enough to be educated even if I wasn't given special attention", and that "My character traits were: Extreme Independence, Compassion, Self-Motivated and Very Affectionately". It was also noted that I have a very longer than normal attention span in things of I am interested in, It was documented that I was so distracted that an audiologist thought I had normal hearing and was faking it!At the age of four, I was 1.5 years above average in all educational levels but speech and language development, which was awesome considering I could not hear for 3,5 yearsIn the early 2000s, I started my career in Information Technology with no job gaps celebrating little wins everyday - fixing technical problems in multiple job roles that overlap between network security, endpoint security, and break fix/it services. After working in the Government and Manufacturing sectors, boredom lead me into Healthcare sector where I managed the I.T. infrastructure of a Texas small rural hospital with a short I.T. staff and helped saved it from closing so it can thrive now!Now I am In Montana working for the largest critical access hospital with a fully staffed team now and still celebrating little wins!My advice to my network.Live life to its fullest capacity. Don’t give up on anything, just keep going until you achieve and succeed.View challenges as opportunities.Learn from your setbacks.Seek opportunities for improvement.Embrace effort as a path to mastering your skills.Take feedback as constructive guidance.Let's connect!
