Design and development of embedded systems for the integration of the Livewire Innovation's Spread Spectrum TDR (SSTDR) Mixed signal ASIC. The ASIC is integrated with a Freescale ARM Cortex M4 processor to provide command and control functionality as a Test and Measurement device. Integrations of C++ libraries to perform Fault detection that provides information about location and Fault type have been intgrated into this custom hardware platform. Interfacing for the platform included: GPIO, SPI, I2C, USB; with development being performed to support Ethernet and CAN.

Programmed and built demonstration equipment for displaying multi-variable active noise control (ANC) applications based on control algorithms. Implemented algorithms to identify the transfer characteristics of a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. Designed and built a six channel set of anti-aliasing filters.

Developed a custom 802.15.4 wireless node for RSSI sensing. Used EagleCad for schematic Capture and Layout. Performed a Cost analysis for MCU and Radio selection. Created a BOM and sourced all parts. Oversaw the prototyping and final product fabrication of a small-scale run of the node. Programmed driver code to add the device to the GCC based TinyOS environment. Wrote custom code for sensing application to perform testing and debugging on the platform.

Simulation of an RF front end using OrCAD Capture and pSpice A/D. Developed and imported spice models. Evaluated frequency response and transients in the high voltage system. Evaluated potential replacements of obsolete components in an existing system.

Programmed MSP430 processor using IAR workbench on a ultra-sonic handheld device to measure pressure, flow and O2 level. Created code to communicate using SPI and I2C with Pressure sensors and the LCD driver. Used interrupt driven code to measure ultra sonic propagation and interact with the user interface in low power modes.

Designed, fabricated, coded and tested a 433mhz transmitter/receiver pair for use in an equipment safety. The system included PIC processors with with integrated radio to perform coding/decoding of ASK signals, provide power management and perform customer specified functions.

Ported a Windows based multi-rate adaptive echo-cancellation system for conference room applications to the ADI, Blackfin processor with implementation on an Easy-kit Lite board. The system was first ported directly using floating point emulation and later a fixed point implementation was created followed by optimization of processing overhead.
