I am one of two developers building the Android Circle Pay application. I am very proud to have help build this app from the ground up as well as the reception our work has received by the community. At Google I/O 2015, our app was featured in the Material Design Showcase.

I am one of two developers that build the HootSuite for Android application. The contributions to this project which I am most proud of include:- Migrating our build process to Gradle and creating build variants to remove friction while testing.- Implementing a data synching service for our application.- Many speed optimizations- Lots of experiments (Added metric reporting, designed and ran multivariate tests)- Set up a continuous integration server which runs our unit tests on a suite of connected Android devices.

As the lead application developer of three man Android team, I also often dive deep into the Android source to assist the other engineers in porting Android to our award winning heads up display. On the interaction design team I bring my HCI (Human Computer Interaction) background and creativity to the table while grounding our brainstorming in technical realities. Between coding sprints and bug massacres, I research new ways of leveraging our product’s sensors for new methods of user interaction and activity tracking. Some notable projects include: augmented reality prototyping, head gesture recognition, compass soft-iron correction, and 2012-13 GUI update.

Spin (Sensory Perception And Interaction) Lab

As a research assistant I investigated gait detection methods utilizing smartphone accelerometers. My research is a key component of a larger spatio-temporal haptic guidance project and a core part of two graduate students’ theses.

CS344 - Introduction to Human Computer InteractionI was the first undergraduate TA in this course’s history. Twice a week I taught 2 hour tutorials and labs. I oversaw, guided, and marked four undergraduate course project teams. I was also responsible for assignment and exam marking.

I designed and built a Web 2.0 front end for their interactive content management system. I worked in a small three person team to port the old framework to a customized CakePHP framework. I brought AJAX interactivity to their product and ensured cross browser compatibility. These tasks were accomplished within very tight deadlines.

I was promoted to this position after volunteering the previous summer. I gave logistical advice during planning. My twenty man team provided the vast majority of manual labor.
