11th Street Development is a real estate consultancy serving public and private clients. I am responsible for the operations of the firm. My designs have created $41.8M of value in private residential development. With a focus on mixed residential projects on infill and greenfield sites, over 383 lots have been created. A key component of my private sector work has been strategizing the best use of sites and bringing investors on board to partner in projects. This involves negotiating with landowners to acquire their property, preparation of pro formae and schedules, and implementation of project controls to deliver projects on quality, budget, and schedule through the construction process. Public sector work includes the updates of zoning ordinances to better achieve a community’s vision, shape the form of the community, and address hot community issues such as signage and short-term rentals. Artistic creativity was used in the design of community recreation areas and parks, custom home landscapes, and gathering and event spaces for a co-working office.

Estridge Homes is a local Indianapolis homebuilder well-known for creating great neighborhoods as well as the design style and quality of their homes. As Vice-President of Development, I was responsible for projects totaling $41.6M of development value. Projects included large, mixed-use, master planned communities, custom residential neighborhoods, and redesign of existing neighborhoods to better meet market demand. Responsible for land acquisition to the operation of homeowners associations, I lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve the goals required throughout the development process. Financial modeling and investor relations were an important part of my duties. Adherence to budgets and schedules required anticipation of variances and project control strategies to mitigate changes during the construction of the neighborhood. I was responsible for architectural review and approval of all structures in several communities.

American Structurepoint is a regional architecture, engineering, and planning firm headquartered in Indianapolis. As Project Development Director I was responsible for a variety of planning and landscape architecture projects for public and private sector clients. I served as the Planning Director for Zionsville, Indiana, leading the department and handling all petitions for the Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. I completed the Whiting, Indiana, Zoning Ordinance. I prepared redevelopment plans including the Southern Shores District Plan and the Speedway Redevelopment Area 2 Plan. I created landscape designs and drawings for public streetscapes and private office, industrial, and multifamily developments. I was honored to be the Landscape Architect for the Indianapolis 9/11 Memorial.

The Estridge Companies was a family of companies creating quality homes in quality neighborhoods. The companies included land development, custom homes, production homes, mortgage services and telecommunications, In my role as Director of Community Development, I was responsible for ensuring the company had an inventory of lots in desired markets. I oversaw budgets and schedules for site selection, due diligence, land planning, entitlements, construction management, and homeowners association operations. Communities ranged in size from 100 lots on infill redevelopment sites to 1,100 lot mixed-use master planned communities. I managed the design of recreation centers and parks throughout neighborhoods. I was hand-picked for projects based on my ability to quickly synthesize large volumes of data and establish a plan of action to reach desired goals. Non-residential projects included the offices of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, landscape design for Indiana Downs (a racino southeast of Indianapolis), and redesign of WoodWind Golf Club. One special project was the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Indianapolis build where I was a primary leader expanding the construction of a single home into a neighborhood revitalization project.

HNTB is a national architecture, engineering, and planning firm. As project manager at HNTB, I lead multi-discipline teams in projects including a $138M renovation of the Kentucky State Capitol and an expansion of the Cave City, Kentucky, Convention Center. I prepared comprehensive plans for 16 communities throughout the Midwest, authored development codes for ten communities across the state, and provided on-call planning services for the Town of McCordsville, the City of Greenfield, and Ripley County. I also prepared special planning studies including strategic plans, annexation studies, parks master plans, and growth projections plans.

Ball State University is a public coeducational research university in Muncie, Indiana. The landscape architecture program consistently ranks as one of the top 10 programs in the nation.I taught on the methods and practices of the profession addressing topics including business organization, contract law, management, marketing, and ethics.

Monroe County is located in south-central Indiana. The county seat is Bloomington. It is best known as the home of Indiana University. As a planner at Monroe County, I authored a new zoning ordinance and processed rezone and site plan petitions for Plan Commission/County Commissioner approval. I oversaw variance and special exception petitions for Board of Zoning Appeals approval. I issued sign permits and served as the county address coordinator.
