Personal & NightLife Hospitality Security Nightlife was my first job in the security field in 2001 until day. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with hundreds of Security Professionals.I was able to work with event planners when our club was hosting various parties, learn effective communication skills to convince drunk people to leave and deescalate hostile situations between guest, implement policies for my team that required hands on in house training, coordinate with other security teams that were bringing their clients to the venue and most importantly learned how to work under pressure and to problem solve with very limited resources.This was one of my most valued experiences was meet with people from all over the world with totally different personalities. What I've learned from different personalities is people want to be recognized for who they are and some for they do and to have a SAFE night out. Also there's some that just want a good simple SAFE night out....in other words They Want What They Want When They Want It And FAST. Unfortunately the Nightlife does not have a system set up in 2019 to cater these specific needs for patrons. I recognize there's a major gap between patrons and Security that needs to be rectified. The Moral of the Story The functions of a private security professional are layered. All are different but if we seek to grow we have to plant our roots and absorb the value from each experience. Executive protection is rough, take it from a guy that’s still fresh in it. It is its own beast but once you learn and get settled you will see how much value you can bring based on your previous experiences whether security related or not. Like the concentric rings of security we must start out and work our way in.
