Structural Design Engineer
Current● Successfully designed and obtained approval for a SAFE model with continuous footings, ensuring stability and strength checks, for a CMU Central Utility Plant under HCAI jurisdiction. ● Developed an ETABS model for an existing concrete hospital building, conducting diaphragm and shear wall analysis and proposing retrofit solutions utilizing FRP as collector and chord elements, wall strengthening, and new concrete shear walls with a 50% CD submittal to Seismic compliance unit. ● Key contributor to gravity design for a 6-story new hospital, involved in developing analytical RAM model and generating loading criteria and maps for superimposed dead loads. Responsible for determining gravity column and beam sizes to ensure structural integrity. ● Designed several steel canopies under seismic and wind loads using RISA3D as an inverted pendulum from ASCE 7 CH 15. ● Performed analysis for varies hospital floor equipment anchorage using ASCE 7-16, chapter 13 and chapter 15 to determine shear and tension forces to size anchor bolts using Hilti-Profis. ● Led BIM Modeling in Revit, engineering, and coordination efforts for successful project approval by HCAI for replacement of a 16-kip air handling unit (AHU) for two similar AHU’s and currently managing RFI’s and submittals ensuring smooth project progression under construction● Performed comprehensive data collection to generate MTCAP report for an existing concrete hospital building using ASCE 41-13 and generate construction documents in Bluebeam to submit to HCAI SCU. ● Use ASCE 7, section 12.2.3.2 to determine if two-stage analysis procedure is permitted for a new hospital building with sideplate moment frames and concrete shear walls as both lateral systems.
