About Bryant Halliday
Since a child Bryant demonstrated characteristics of a brilliant entrepreneur. At the age of 4, he sold used readers digest magazines to neighborhood parents, organized & threw neighborhood play days for local children while charging admission, & selling wrist watches in his Etobicoke high school cafeteria (Silverthorn Collegiate). Bryant graduated Silverthorn in 1976 and began working for his father George Halliday, as a technical QC supervisor at Redev Ltd. which manufactured fibreglass wound products & electronic winding equipment.In 1978 Bryant opened his first manufacturing company based on the knowledge of fiberglass. His company would be called Zylox and it manufactured integral coloured gel coated fiberglass automobile parts, fenders, hoods, body kits, spoilers, etc. and later branched out into sport equipment such as fiberglass water skis & later began manufacturing fiberglass mail boxes. In 1979 Bryant opened Ocelot Boats Ltd. to exploit the benefits and capitalize on the success of fiberglass. A company that manufactured speed boats ranging from 14' - 20' lengths both inboard & outboard motors. Each boat motor was selected on a per order basis, some of which using V8 Corvette motors.In 1980 Bryant opened Competition Plus, a distribution & retail company to assist with the intense demand for his products & to increase brand awareness. It would warehouse and sell finished products. This company would later be rebranded as Ditto in 1984, when they made the decision to sell not only car parts but transport truck parts and steel parts.1985 Bryant opened Graffiti Busters, which placed miniature billboards in front of washroom urinals & bathroom stall doors to reduce vandalism. This company would never see growth due to Bryant joining his father to further develop & grow Synstone, lightweight fibreglass reinforced concrete cladding panels, sandwich panels, infill panels, spandrels panels & roofing in 1985.
