My latest work is helping build the Sneaker Impact brand and sustainability movement in the national running community and locally in South Florida. Sneaker Impact's mission is to upcycle running shoes instead of throwing them away. We create economic opportunities with the shoes in developing countries and are currently developing a shredding and auto-sort program for end of life shoes to help create a circular economy of products and materials. I am the national Run community manager and have worked with the Running Industry Association (RIA), Miami, Fort Lauderdale, LA, Flying Pig and Air Force marathons as an exhibitor at their expos along with attending industry conferences at RunChella Chicago, The Running Event in Austin, and sustainability conferences and speaking opportunities at colleges and events throughout the country. We were recently featured by the RIA in their July newsletter where we discussed transparency, values, technology and community.My past 20+ years experience is in supplements/nutritional product development, specifically superfood nutrition and health, using my degree in botany and functional or medicinal mushrooms. Nootropics and sports supplements have been a recent focus of mine along with functional mushrooms. I've used my botany and environmental studies degrees to start and run my own land restoration firm (Ecological Restoration Services) in Madison, WI for 10 years to creating revolutionary health products to hosting educational events focused on science, the arts, music, wellness and community. My main hat 2010-2020 was helping build the product line (skincare, superfoods & CBD) of Live Ultimate, a Miami-based wellness company.My entire life I've been an athlete, first a soccer player then the last 15 as a competitive marathoner completing over 45 marathons and 300 races. I'm now a globally ranked masters runner competing year-round in the World Marathon Majors age group world championships, world majors and other races with a recent 2:31 marathon personal best. I've also coached high school and adult athletics for over 12 years in Miami. Outside of "work and play", I co-founded Miami Mushroom Fest, a music and art festival that celebrates all things mushrooms, in 2020 with fellow Miami mushroom enthusiast, poet and DJ, Alan Epstein. We put on events throughout the year including camping weekends. My focus is wellness and education programming and production along with with marketing, operations and business development.
