Colleagues describe him as "I worked with Bryan since October of 2015 while at OregonHeart, Inc. Bryan worked on a number of fronts in support of the development of a Total Artificial Heart TAH) of my invention. Specifically, he modeled and designed in Solidworks the TAH itself, fixtures for fabrication of the TAH, test stands for laboratory evaluation of the TAH and miscellaneous hardware in support of animal experiments. He was also a major contributor of control algorithms in MatLab to operate the TAH. Bryan also designed motors for the TAH using MotorSolve and designed the motor test stand and conducted the motor testing. He also was responsible for operating our three D printer in support of building prototype assemblies. Bryan was also responsible for writing and releasing test procedures and document control. Bryan's personality fit in well for the team and I found him to be responsive and effective in completing his work. A very good combination of theoretical and hands on engineering." and "I consider myself very fortunate to have worked alongside Bryan on a highly complex and technical project to develop a new total artificial heart. As we were both very early members of the startup team, there were many varied technical challenges to be overcome, as well as a multitude of technical risks to mitigate. Bryan was able to consistently rise to the challenge and deliver top notch technical expertise and outside the box thinking with a bright positive attitude. He is equally comfortable writing custom Matlab or Labview programs, designing in CAD, and working with his hands in the shop or lab. I was consistently impressed by Bryan's technical aptitude, apatite for new challenges, and ability to learn new things quickly. Most importantly Bryan is wonderful to work with.
