Specific tasks and responsibilities have included the following:Community Area lead for Salisbury: coordination of strategic planning policy, incorporating a statement of common ground vis-à-vis neighbourhood planning authorities in the urban area, the development site selection process, dialogue with site promotersCoordination of Strategic Environmental Assessment / Sustainability Appraisal in respect of scales of growth at Wiltshire’s settlements, and assessment/appraisal of specific development sites around SalisburyFormulation of local plan policy in respect of the Visitor Economy and the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge and Avebury.Production of a Water Resources background paper, and oversight of a strategic flood risk assessment (SFRA) and water cycle updateCommissioned studies, including a retail needs assessment and an employment needs review, involving the appointment of consultants, drafting tender briefs, and managing consultant output.
